【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforthedeterminationofathermalperformanceestimatevalueofamaterial,acombinationofmaterials,oracomparisonofdifferentmaterialsusedinflameresistantclothingforworkersexposedtocombinedconvectiveandradiantthermalhazards.Thistestmethodevaluatesamaterialx2019;sheattransferpropertieswhenexposedtoaheatexposureataconstantvalueandspecificduration.Airmovementatthefaceofthespecimenandaroundthecalorimetercanaffectthemeasuredheattransferredduetoforcedconvectiveheatlosses.Minimizingairmovementaroundthespecimenandtestapparatuswillaidintherepeatabilityoftheresults.Thistestmethodaccountsforthethermalenergystoredintheexposedtestspecimenaftertheheatexposurehasceased.HighervaluesofThermalPerformanceEstimateratingsdeterminedinthistestassociatetohighervaluesofthermal(convectiveandradiative)energyprotectionagainstapredictedskinburninjury.Thistestmethodmaintainsthespecimeninastatic,horizontalpositionanddoesnotinvolvemovementexceptthatresultingfromtheexposure.Thistestmethodspecifiesastandardized84x00B1;2kW/m2(2x00B1;0.05cal/cm2s)exposurecondition.Differentexposureconditionshavethepotentialtoproducedifferentresults.Otherexposureconditionsrepresentativeoftheexpectedhazardareallowedbutshallbereportedwiththeresultsalongwithadeterminationoftheexposureenergylevelstability.ThistestmethodcontainsoptionalprovisionsforconductingcertificationtestingagainstaprescribedThermalPerformanceEstimatevalue.1.1Thistestmethodmeasuresthenon-steadystateheattransferthroughflameresistantmaterialsforclothingsubjectedtoacombinedconvectiveandradiantheatexposure.1.1.1Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletomaterialsthatarenotflameresistant.Note18212;Thedeterminationofamaterialx2019;sflameresistanceshallbemadepriortotestinganddoneinaccordancewiththeapplicableperformanceand/orspecificationstandardforthematerialx2019;send-use.1.1.2Thistestmethodaccountsforthethermalenergycontainedinanexposedtestspecimenafterthestandardizedcombinedconvectiveandradiantheatexposurehasceasedandisusedtoestimateperformancetoapredictedsecond-degreeskinburninjury.1.2Thistestmethodisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundorotherunitsthatarecommonlyusedforthermaltesting.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
