【摘要】:Thispracticemaybeusedtodetermineconcentrationsofelementsleachedfromnuclearwastematerials(glasses,ceramics,cements)usinganaqueousleachant.Ifthenuclearwastematerialisradioactive,asuitablycontainedandshieldedICP-AESspectrometersystemwithafilteredexit-gassystemmustbeused,butnootherchangesinthepracticearerequired.Theleachantmaybedeionizedwateroranyaqueoussolutioncontaininglessthan1%totalsolids.Thispracticeaswrittenisfortheanalysisofsolutionscontaining1%(v/v)nitricacid.Itcanbemodifiedtospecifytheuseofthesameoranothermineralacidatthesameorhigherconcentration.Insuchcases,theonlychangeneededinthispracticeistosubstitutethepreferredacidandconcentrationvaluewhenever1%nitricacidappearshere.Itisimportantthattheacidtypeandcontentofthereferenceandchecksolutionscloselymatchtheleachatesolutionstobeanalyzed.ThispracticecanbeusedtoanalyzeleachatesfromstaticleachtestingofwasteformsusingTestMethodC1220.1.1Thispracticeisapplicabletothedeterminationoflowconcentrationandtraceelementsinaqueousleachatesolutionsproducedbytheleachingofnuclearwastematerials,usinginductivelycoupledplasma-atomicemissionspectroscopy(ICP-AES).1.2Thenuclearwastematerialmaybeasimulated(non-radioactive)solidwasteformoranactualsolidradioactivewastematerial.1.3Theleachatemaybedeionizedwateroranynaturalorsimulatedleachatesolutioncontaininglessthan1%totaldissolvedsolids.1.4ThispracticeshouldbeusedbyanalystsexperiencedintheuseofICP-AES,theinterpretationofspectralandnon-spectralinterferences,andproceduresfortheircorrection.1.5NodetailedoperatinginstructionsareprovidedbecauseofdifferencesamongvariousmakesandmodelsofsuitableICP-AESinstruments.Instead,theanalystshallfollowtheinstructionsprovidedbythemanufactureroftheparticularinstrument.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddresscomparativeaccuracyofdifferentdevicesortheprecisionbetweeninstrumentsofthesamemakeandmodel.1.6Thispracticecontainsnotesthatareexplanatoryandarenotpartofthemandatoryrequirementsofthemethod.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
